The OnApproach Story
OnApproach began in 2003, and has been growing rapidly ever since. From our beginnings as a data consulting company to launching our a collaborative industry analytics solution, we’ve made it our goal to provide credit unions with the means to transform their data into actionable goals.
Today, OnApproach has approximately 50 credit union clients with the most widely adopted data platform in the credit union industry. In addition to the OnApproach M360 Data Model, OnApproach has also recently launched its CU Analytics Ecosystem. This consists of multiple elements. First is the CU App Store (CUAppStore.com), an online marketplace which allows credit unions to benefit from a wide array of reporting and analytics products and services. The second is OnApproach Caspian, a Big Data “Lake” which combines large volumes of structured and unstructured data sources to enable such innovations as Near Real-Time Peer Benchmarking and In-depth Predictive Analytics Capabilities.
OnApproach partners with TruLync and Celero to improve access to analytics for credit unions and bring data solutions to Canadian financial institutions. The Big Data/Analytics Conference is renamed to the Analytics and Financial Innovation Conference (AXFI), co-sponsored with Best Innovation Group.
OnApproach transitions from a data warehouse consulting company to a software company specializing in credit unions by becoming a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO). The initial investors in the CUSO are Denali Alaskan FCU, Anchorage, AK and Ideal Credit Union, St. Paul, MN. OnApproach starts the Big Data/Analytics Conference for credit unions, in Minneapolis, MN.
OnApproach, Inc. was founded in 2003 as a consultancy specializing in data warehousing, data integration, analytics, and reporting. In its early years, OnApproach completed over 50 major projects for clients such as Toro, Land o’ Lakes, Great River Energy, and Univita. Many of these engagements were won as a competitive process in which the company was selected over such companies as Oracle and Cognos.
OnApproach announces the CU Analytics Ecosystem, a collaborative environment for credit unions, data scientists, and application developers.
The AXFI Conference, co-sponsored by OnApproach, has great growth and success with 250+ attendees & 70+ credit unions represented.
OnApproach acquires Technology Navigator, a CUSO, from First Flight CU, Cary, NC. OnApproach hosts the second Big Data/Analytics Conference. OnApproach is awarded a patent for OnApproach M360.
In 2009, OnApproach completed a major reporting and analytics project for Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union (St. Paul, MN). The success of the project led to a similar initiative at Ideal Credit Union (St. Paul, MN). The insights gained from these projects inspired the leadership team to envision a data integration, analytics, and reporting product tailored to the U.S. credit union market.
